Safety Matters

Nobles Cooperative Electric believes in safety

Call Before You Dig Safe Electricity Safety Quiz Interested in Safety Demonstration? Safety Tips for Kids What To Do When A Vehicle Crashes Into A Utility Pole Minnesota Stray Voltage Guide

Your cooperative is very safety conscious. Not only do we look out for the safety of our employees, but also, you the member. We are committed to keeping you safe at home and in the community.

Safety Demonstrations

Nobles Cooperative Electric visits elementary schools and community groups within its service territory each school year to teach electric safety. Using an electricfying safety farm, employees educate young students about the potential dangers of electricity in the home and outdoors. This educational program also reinforces classroom instruction by explaining how Nobles brings electricity to homes and businesses.

Intended for elementary school students this program is a wonderful interactive learning tool for students to understand the importance of electricity.

Safe Electricity

Safe Electricity has received national recognition for providing information to consumers, while helping complement safety education programs for students and or educators. The program provides safety videos and tips, along with material for teachers and students.

Electricity is an important part of our lives—from lights to cell phones to gaming. Test your ability to handle hazards and dangerous situations safely with these safety games for kids:

Downed Power Lines

Be sure to treat all power lines as if they are energized. Never climb or attempt to handle a tree that has a limb caught in a power line. There may not be any visible evidence that the tree is electrified or dangerous. If a fire starts from a fallen power line, notifiy the fire department and the cooperative. Stay away from the site of the electrical hazard. Make sure others stay clear of the line and treat it as energized. Do not use water on or near the fallen power line.

Gopher State

If you plan on digging in your yard, remember to call Gopher State. You can reach them by calling 811.

Security Lights

Outdoor lighting is one of the best ways to protect your home or business. If you’d like a little extra security at night, Nobles Cooperative Electric will install a LED security light to brighten up your yard.

As a special service to our members, NCE installs and maintains a LED light on your meter pole, for a small monthly fee. These lights have a great light output and are very energy-efficient.

  • The monthly rental charge includes all electricity needed to operate the light.
  • Free bulb replacement and maintenance. No need to wonder how to reach the bulb to change it.
  • No light switch to remember. The automatic eye tells the light to come on at dusk and to go off at dawn.
  • Safe and secure – a security light gives you the peace-of-mind that comes with a bright dependable light.

To have a security light installed, please give your cooperative a call at 800-776-0517.
